Featuring thirty-five Southern masterworks, Romantic Spirits: Nineteenth Century Paintings from the Johnson Collection opened at the Morris Museum of Art in Augusta, Georgia on March 2, 2013. On view through the spring, the show brings to three-dimensional life those paintings examined in Estill Curtis Pennington's essays and also includes important new TJC acquisitions such as Johannes Oertel’s The Union Scout and Thomas Wightman’s Tabletop Bounty.
