This piece showcases Anni’s penchant for interlacing modern art concepts with weaving. Here, the primary colors of red and yellow are intensified by the black and white gradient lines. This arrangement recalls the work of Piet Mondrian, whose concept of spatial harmony greatly inspired the Bauhaus leaders. The combination of an ancient material (thread) and traditional technique (weaving) juxtaposed with modern industrial applications (printmaking) resulted in experimental materials and methods that provided Anni with further conceptual opportunities for her art.
