Curated by Wofford College senior and TJC intern Sara Shealy, this presentation explicates the unique and integral role artists assumed in the cultural and commerical resurgence of early twentieth-century Charleston, South Carolina. Drawn from the collection's holdings of Charleston material, this show of over thirty works includes oil paintings, watercolors, and etchings by Alfred Hutty, Elizabeth O'Neill Verner, Alice Ravenel Huger Smith, Anthony Thieme, Birge Harrison, and other painters whose legacies are inextricably linked to the picturesque city.
