Dali Salad

Charles “Red” Grooms often uses satire and caricature to depict notable artists and public figures. This unconventional portrait of Salvador Dalí was created as a playful homage to the Surrealist master’s own irreverent style. In what Grooms called a “sculpto-pictorama,” silkscreened and lithographic elements are combined with a wooden base and acrylic dome to create a three-dimensional portrait of the famously “off-the-wall” Dalí.
