“The George” George Dean Johnson, Jr., College of Business and Economics, University of South Carolina Upstate

Affectionately known as “The George,” the $30 million, 60,000-square-foot George Dean Johnson, Jr. College of Business and Economics (JCBE) in downtown Spartanburg embodies its namesake’s entrepreneurial legacy. This state-of-the-art facility houses a stock trading lab for real-time trading, serving as a valuable resource for students and a computer lab when not in trading use. Equipped with smart classrooms and a tiered lecture hall accommodating 80 students, the faculty utilizes cutting-edge technology for teaching. The George includes three galleries showcasing rotating exhibits from The Johnson Collection.
